Swimming lessons for Bayview Village.

Bayview Village sits east of Yonge around Bayview and Sheppard, and the pool at 155 Hilda Avenue is a straightforward trip west and north — along Finch Avenue, or up Bayview and across.

It is also reachable on the TTC: the Sheppard line connects Bayview to Yonge, and Yonge Street bus routes run north to the pool.

01

Coaching rather than a class

Families around Bayview Village tend to arrive at the club at a specific point: the child has done recreational levels, can technically swim, and is no longer getting better. The question stops being 'can they swim' and starts being 'is the stroke any good'.

That is a coaching problem, not a class problem. It needs someone watching the same swimmer repeatedly and correcting one thing at a time.

02

Adults and masters swimmers

The 8:00 PM weekday slots suit adults who swim laps already and want to stop wasting effort — the dropped elbow, the sinking legs, the breathing that ruins the rhythm every third stroke.

Triathletes in the area use the same sessions to make the swim leg cheaper in energy terms rather than simply faster.

03

Getting to the pool

155 Hilda Avenue, a block west of Yonge Street between Finch and Steeles, with parking on site. From Bayview Village the simplest route is west along Finch Avenue to Yonge, then north.
